Just press the "Test" button on your smoke/CO detector and hold it for at least five seconds, or through three cycles of alarm sounds. Otherwise, the C1 camera will not detect the alarm. The 5-second requirement is used to avoid false alerts from other similar-sounding devices in your house (such as a microwave).
